OAR Happenings and Other News

OAR's New Website Is Here!

The new website is more user-friendly, more dynamic and has modern look and feel. Check out our new style and let us know what you think by clicking on the feedback link on the bottom of each page.

Send Your Leadership Team to LDC

You'll want to make sure your leadership teams are in attendance at the Leadership Development Conference next month to give them the tools they need to be effective leaders and to help manage committees. In addition, they'll learn some very useful information from the great speakers we've got lined up. Check out the schedule here.

Also, don't miss AE Day, to be held Thursday, February 9, with the President’s breakfast starting off the day. Bill Malkasian from NAR will be meeting with all the AEs to give us a “How To” on the REALTOR® Party. Following lunch we will hold our regular AE Committee meeting and will adjourn for the OAR Board of Directors meeting.

Broker Relationships Act to be Discussed at Brokers Summit February 8

OAR's 2012 Brokers Summit, a welcome addition to this year's Leadership Development Conference, will be highlighting State and Federal Legislative Issues,
including proposed changes to the Broker Relationships Act.

The Brokers Summit is the one event each year where brokers and managers come together to learn about the hottest topics affecting their business. This gives company leaders the tools to go back to their offices and disseminate pertinent and correct information to their agents.

All local AEs are invited and lunch is provided.

Karel Murray Set to Kick-Start 2012 GRI

National speaker Karel Murray, a favorite of GRI students, will be teaching The Basics of Profitability February 15-16. Karel's humor and relatable personality will captivate the class's attention for the two-day GRI 101 course. Registration is online now; help us spread the word to your members. Tell your new members: taking four GRI courses satisfies the OREC post-license education requirement!

Chance to Save on Training

We heard from technology trainer Doug Devitre this morning. He will be in Tulsa speaking at a National Speakers Association event Saturday, May 12 and will be available to piggyback sessions for a company and/or association Friday May 11. Doug has talent in training  agents as well as association leadership/staff. He emphasizes systems that utilize technology to streamline the work flow. This is a chance to offer some useful and relevant training and the chance to save on the related costs.

Realtor.com to Launch Free Mobile Listing Sites

More buyers and sellers are accessing listings on their mobile devices, so Realtor.com is debuting a new tool to help real estate professionals improve the mobile viewing experience.

Realtor.com will soon launch a tool that will allow real estate professionals to build a Web site featuring a single property that is optimized for a mobile device, Inman News reports. The tool will be free, and is set to debut in two weeks.

To get more information about the tool, visit Realtor.com and click on “Mobile Listing Builder.”
