"Today, we got your hugs." Bill, the
director, said that at the appreciation breakfast at the Armed Services YMCA
in Lawton. He said he gets our hugs of appreciation, and I am telling all of you contributors that we got your hugs
today when we presented them with a $4,000 check from our CRS Chapter. For
the past five years, the Armed Services YMCA has been the designated
recipient of our chapter with a heart fundraiser.
We met soldiers, families, and took a tour
of the facility there. The bright-faced four year-olds had sacks in hand
ready to hunt Easter eggs. The staff wear red on Fridays in honor of the
troops and encouraged all of us to do so, too. The
help they provide covers many areas of practical help and emotional
support. The warmth and care of all the staff we met was evident. Your
contributions are truly put to good use!
Our goal is to get the powerpoint from the
Armed Services YMCA on our CRSOK.com Web site so any of you that want to see
the good they do there can.
