process; the importance of the 1031
tax-deferred exchange and how to use it; how
to determine market value; what property
rights and restrictions are involved;

environmental and regulatory issues that
land brokers must know and be ready to deal
with are also stressed.

Kathleen
McKenzie Owen holds a Masters in Education
and is recognized as a National Real Estate
Instructor. She was active in the biannual
revision of the 2008-09 Texas Legal and
Ethics Manuals for Real Estate practitioners
and is a Certified Texas Real Estate
Consultant.
Owen served Women’s Council of REALTORS® as
a Texas Governor and is very active in the
State and National WCR organizations. She
also served National REALTORS® Land
Institute as Member Services Coordinator and
is a CCIM Candidate.
Owen is professionally active in Domestic
and International land sales, leasing,
exchange and development. She is a strong
believer in education and holds
certifications including LTG, PNM, ALC, CIPS,
GRI and SRES.
